Dear Students,
Congratulations once again on your enrolment to LSMU! We are happy to see that admission numbers were not greatly affected by the pandemic, and we will have approximately the same number of Freshmen students as planned. Prepare to meet your new friends!
September is approaching, and now is a good time to start planning your arrival on campus. Reference date for planning is 14 September 2020; it is the date when the new academic year begins for all first-year students. Quarantine has been lifted as of 17 June in Lithuania, and the country is successfully returning to a mode of usual life. However, the national state of emergency has been declared due to the threat of the spread of COVID-19 including by incoming travelers. Due to that, there are some border controls and entry restrictions in force depending on the country. We cannot exclude that travelling difficulties may occur for some of you in September. Good news is that you should not worry about it, as students who cannot make it on time to Lithuania for regular studies due to travel restrictions will have an opportunity to start studies online until the issue is resolved. Faculties are prepared for that, and we will take care of integrating those students into the study process. Further information will be provided in August, as we will be able to see the actual situation with the pandemic.
University is closely following the pandemic situation in the World and issues weekly updates for planning of students’ return to face-to-face studies in Kaunas. Please follow the updates about the country of your origin, and check the LSMU website every week here: lsmuni.lt/en/front/top-most/weekly-update-to-international-students-preparing-their-travel-plans-back-to-regular-studies.html
Due to pandemic, the period of Registration Week will be extended and will take place from 24 August till 11 September. During this period, first-year students should register at the LSMU either in person, or, because of the objective travel delays, including visa problems, the online registration option will be available.
You must inform the University of your expected arrival date for registration as soon as you finalize your travel arrangements and know the date, or, if travelling to Lithuania for you is no yet an option, that you will be meanwhile registering and studying online. The online form to book a time on Registration Week will open on 15 July 2020, and email reminders will be sent to all first-year students.
